Our lawyers regularly provide pro bono legal services to several not-for-profit organizations that serve the needs of persons with limited means. Heenan Blaikie has even developed community partnerships, including with Pro Bono Law Ontario (PBLO) and the East Scarborough Storefront, which led to the creation of the Heenan Blaikie Pro Bono Legal Service Initiative, which aims to provide legal services on a pro bono basis to residents of the Kingston-Galloway area of Scarborough.
We also support Toronto’s Partnership to Advance Youth Employment, which helps young people from “at-risk” communities – neighbourhoods at risk of being left behind and where young people are at risk of being involved in crime – develop marketable skills and get work experience.
