Thomas Brady concentrates his practice in federal labour, human rights and administrative law, appearing before the Federal Courts, the Supreme Court of Canada, the Canadian Human Rights Tribunal and the Canada Industrial Relations Board. He is a member of the Labour Law, Human Rights, Privacy and Access Review Liaison Group of the Federal Court of Canada. He is co-author, with Richard Charney, of Judicial Review in Labour Law, a leading text in the field that was awarded the Canadian Bar Association's prize for best work by first time authors on its publication. Mr. Brady has been listed as a leader in Canadian labour and employment law in Who's Who Legal for 2010, 2011 and 2012.

Mr. Brady joined Heenan Blaikie after working at an industry association and has been a partner since 1996.

His community involvement has included serving as a director of the Montreal Chapter of the Ireland-Canada Chamber of Commerce and as its secretary since 2011, as a director of the St. Patrick's Society of Montreal (2004-2011), as a director of the St. Patrick's Square Foundation since 2011, which provides accommodations for seniors, and as Honorary Solicitor to the St. Andrews Society of Montreal.

Representing Canadian National Railways and the Federally Regulated Employers Transportation and Communications industry association as interveners before the Supreme Court of Canada.

Representing a mining company in an administrative law and constitutional law challenge to an interest arbitration award under the Canada Transportation Act.

Representing Bell Canada in the litigation of large scale pay equity complaints before the Federal and Supreme Courts and in the negotiation of a settlement of the complaints.

Representing Air Canada in litigation of a large scale pay equity complaint before the Canadian Human Rights Tribunal and the Federal Courts and in mediation of the complaint.

Counsel to the Government of the Northwest Territories (GNWT) as respondent in a human rights complaint by the Public Service Alliance of Canada alleging systemic discrimination in the pay of employees in largely female jobs in the GNWT's public service and in its recent physician negotiations.
