Richard Gaudreault, a partner of Heenan Blaikie, is a member of the Labour, Employment and Human Rights Law group.

Mr. Gaudreault has extensive experience in all areas of labour law, employment law and human rights law. He frequently acts as a negotiator in collective bargaining and as a strategic advisor in the planning and reorganization of human resources for small, medium and large businesses.

He is recognized as a leading practitioner in Labour and Employment Law in the 2013 edition of The Best Lawyers in Canada (Woodward / White).

Mr. Gaudreault is an experienced litigator who has appeared before a variety of courts, including administrative tribunals, the Commission des relations du travail (Labour Relations Board), the Superior Court, as well as before the Court of Appeal and the Supreme Court of Canada.

Mr. Gaudreault is a graduate of the Negotiation Program at the American Institute for Legal Education. He is also an accredited instructor with the Ministère de l’Emploi et de la solidarité sociale (Department of Employment and Social Solidarity) under the Act to promote workforce skills development and recognition.

Mr. Gaudreault is a member of the Board of Directors of Fondation Jean Duceppe, Fondation de la Maison du Père and Festival international de la littérature.

Resolution of a Canada–United States cross-border labour conflict involving legal issues such as boycott campaigns and the negotiation of a collective agreement in the United States.

Legal counsel in the elaboration of strategic human resources reorganization plans and collective agreements for small, medium and large businesses in the manufacturing and services areas.

Lawyer representing the Société de la Place des Arts de Montréal in a litigation case against the stage technicians.

Lawyer for Wal-Mart Canada, particularly with respect to the case involving the closing of the Jonquière store.

Legal counsel in corporate reorganizations, including the allocation of subcontracting and outsourcing contracts.

Legal counsel with respect to labour and employment law issues for a company comprising more than 5,000 unionized employees.

Legal counsel with respect to complex cases of sexual harassment, psychological harassment and various forms of discrimination.
