Since her call to the Bar, Ms. Guimond has focused her practice exclusively on labour and employment law, first in the legal department of a large corporation under federal jurisdiction and then in private practice. She has numerous years of specialized practice in this field, both on behalf of employers from the private sector (small, medium and large companies) and the public sector. She also advises senior executives with respect to the negotiation of severance packages.
Ms. Guimond is a litigator who is regularly called upon to represent her clients before various administrative bodies and tribunals as well as before the civil courts. Her expertise is notably sought after with respect to labour relations matters, individual employment issues and occupational health and safety. She also counsels her clients on administrative law, the Charter of Rights and Freedoms as well as privacy and access to information.
She gives conferences on topics related to labour relations, employee management and new legislation in labour and employment law.
Ms. Guimond is a former member of the board of directors of the Chamber of Commerce of Ville Saint-Laurent for which she acted as secretary, vice-chair and legal advisor. She is also an honorary member of the board of directors of Notre-Dame-de-Lourdes College (Longueuil).
