Lead counsel for Bell Canada, leading the Company’s defence before the Canadian Human Rights Tribunal against the Communication Energy Paperworkers (CEP) and Femmes Action equal pay complaints in hearings that commenced in April 2001 and which were settled in June 2006 following a complex multiparty mediation in which Mr. Rosen was a central participant. He was also a central figure in the litigation proceedings relating to the settlement reached in 2002 between the Company and the Canadian Telephone Employees Association (CTEA) of the CTEA’s equal pay complaints.
Legal counsel for the National Hockey League and the Club de Hockey Canadien Inc. in the certification application filed by the National Hockey League Players Association in April 2005 seeking to declare a separate bargaining unit for the players of the Montreal Canadiens and to certify the Club de Hockey Canadien Inc.
Lead counsel for the rock group Metallica in a class action brought in the early 1990s by disgruntled ticket holders against Metallica, Guns N’ Roses, Donald K. Donald Productions and the Olympic Stadium seeking reimbursement of the ticket price and additional damages further to the cancellation of a rock concert and subsequent riot.
